Pierre-Marie Bourniquel was deputy chief of the Economic and Financial division of the Strasbourg Regional Judicial Police Department before joining the Central Directorate for Public Security where he forged most of his career under successive roles: Deputy Central Commissioner of Chambéry in 1980, District Commissioner of Biarritz in 1985 (appointed Commissioner), Director of Public Security in New Caledonia in 1991 (appointed Division Commissioner), Evry District Commissioner in 1994, Director of Public Security for Department 66, Perpignan in 1997, Department 83 in Toulon in 2001 (appointed Comptroller General), Department 06 in Nice in 2005, South West Public Security Coordinator in Bordeaux in 2010 (appointed Inspector General), and South Public Security Coordinator in Marseille in 2012. He also participated in several police department audits in Vanuatu, Namibia, Scandinavia, Iceland and the Baltic countries.

Education : Master’s degree in private law, graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Police, St. Cyr-au-Mont d’Or (69), graduate of the University of Virginia, USA, graduate of the FBI Academy (Quantico USA), IHESI, IHEDN,TOPSPOC (European Top Senior Police Officers Course) auditor.
