Financial performance in 2008 |
|
|
|
|
In a tough market environment, the Group achieved revenues of 186.5 million
euros, of which 45% in Italy and 55% in the rest of Europe. 78% of revenues
were generated in the form of commissions.
Though all the Group’s financial assets were duly marked to market (fair
value), the pre-tax income of Gruppo Banca Leonardo stood at 50.4 million
euros and its net profit after tax at 29.7 million euros.
Gruppo Banca Leonardo continues to invest in future growth, reflected in the
recruitment of new talent, and the opening of new premises in Italy (Bologna)
and abroad (Amsterdam and Madrid), as well as the strengthening of the
existing ones.
The Group’s strength underscored by its first-class teams and the quality of
proposed management products, have attracted a net influx of new assets for
a total of 1.2 billion euros despite the negative market performance. Assets
under management totaled approximately 8.3 billion euros at the end of 2008.
Despite its financial strength, the outlook for Gruppo Banca Leonardo in 2009
is obviously influenced by the current market conditions which require caution
in making assumptions.
